About IAS

IAS is administered by Nura Gili in conjunction with the UNSW Admissions Office. Assessment for entry is coordinated by Nura Gili in conjunction with Faculties and Schools across the University.

All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can apply to UNSW through the UNSW Indigenous Admission Scheme, and it is available for undergraduate courses at UNSW. You can apply if you have not completed school or achieved a requisite ATAR score for entry into your preferred course of study. This admission scheme is designed to assess your capacity to study at a tertiary level in your preferred area of study.

  1. Lodge an application with the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Your UAC application number is required for the next step. Visit the UAC website for further details.
  2. Complete the UNSW Indigenous Admissions Scheme Application Form and submit (Application for T3 are closed).
  3. Supplying evidence of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent with your application. Please refer to Nura Gili’s Confirmation of Aboriginality policy for further information
  4. Your application will be assessed and if successful you will be asked to attend an interview with Nura Gili and Faculty staff at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney.
