Indigenous Research Opportunities

Nura Gili has led innovative, culturally appropriate, and holistic pathway programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students for decades. Our team led two keystone pathway programs to UNSW, the Indigenous Pre-programs and Indigenous Admissions Scheme (IAS) 

The Uluru Statement from the Heart, issued to the Australian public in 2017, calls for a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice to Parliament, and for Makarrata – a coming together after a struggle – through a process of treaty-making and truth-telling.

The Indigenous Law Centre (ILC) is an integral part of UNSW Law, with close connections to PVC Indigenous. Established in 1981, the ILC is the only Indigenous law research centre in Australia.

Developing a pathway and pipeline to 'Grow Our Own' Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholars, academics and staff is a vital element of our Indigenous Strategy.

Give Back is a characteristic of both UNSW and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and the Indigenous Strategy makes giving back to Indigenous communities a primary value of UNSW.
